I graduated with a BSc. in Global Resource Systems from the University of British Colombia in Vancouver and received my first formal exposure to permaculture training as part of the Ecovillage Design Education course at Ananda Gaorii in Denmark.
I lived in Venezuela for over two years and worked as a volunteer for the PROUT Research Institute of Venezuela in Caracas, under the leadership of activist and monk Dada Maheshvarananda. The Progressive Utilization Theory (or PROUT) is a spiritually-minded socioeconomic alternative that combines self-sufficiency, cooperatives and universal spiritual values to ensure the basic necessities to all people in the human family: healthcare, education, food, clothing, shelter and meaningful work.
Bikram Yoga is one of the great loves of my life and I've maintained a constant practice since becoming a certified instructor in 2013.
When I'm not on the roof or in the studio, I like to read, write, play guitar and make vegetarian tacos.
